Gearing Up for Fitness with Online Sports Apparel

Getting in shape is much easier when you have the appropriate sports apparel to wear. With so many online resources, you can now find almost any type of clothing for fitness and exercise, running, playing sports games, etc.

Many of these items can be found online at a sports shopping mall in a variety of brand names such as NBA, NFL, NASCAR and NCAA, and at a reasonable price. Here's a quick guide to sports apparel, and how to choose the clothing and accessories that are right for you.

Apparel for Playing Sports (Sports Jerseys-Apparel, etc.)

When ordering items such as sports jerseys or other apparel for yourself or your team, keep in mind that the fit should be comfortable and the materials should be flexible. During any active game such as football, basketball, soccer, hockey, baseball, etc., there will be lots of arm and leg movement. Be sure to order the appropriate sizes and allow for a little moving room. Don't order items too big because the clothing could be a hindrance if it's too baggy. Spandex materials are usually popular choices for these types of sports.

Track and Running Shoes

If you're involved in track at school or in the professional realm, the main focus should be on your running shoes. Choose shoes that fit snug, but comfortably. The shoes should not slide on your heel, nor should they hurt your toes after wearing them for an hour or two. Be sure the shoes provide adequate support for your heels and arches. Also, buy running shoes that feel lightweight on your feet while running. Check to make sure the shoes have good treads on the bottom. Your running shoes should be a help, not a hindrance.

Fitness Training and Gym Workouts

At the gym, or during fitness training, buy sports clothing according to the type of exercises you will perform. For instance, wear pants that fit snugly around the legs if doing leg exercises, especially on an exercise bike or similar equipment. Loose-fitting pants could get caught in the machinery and cause injury.

For aerobic-style fitness training, wear leotards with leggings, bike shorts and a jog top. Or, wear a snug-fitting t-shirt with boxer-style shorts. Don't wear clothing that's baggy, as it will hinder your body's movement. For shoes, wear aerobic shoes if possible, but avoid running shoes with heavy treads.

Sports Swimwear

If swimming in competitions, choose a bathing suit that promotes speed and smooth swimming. There are special types of swimsuits that have "vertical line" designs in the material to channel water away from the body. Competition swimwear should be slick, comfortable, and allow for easy body movement.

To find these types of unique sportswear items used to be difficult - especially for those living in a small town with limited retailers. But nowadays, you can shop for all types of sports clothing and fitness apparel from your own home computer any time of the day or week.

Online sports shopping malls offer all types of sports clothing, fitness wear, athletic supplies, sporting goods-sports equipment, sports memorabilia, and more. And, you can usually get a great price for these items online. Use the tips above to dress for sports success!

Is Your Husband Chatting Online? When to Be Concerned

If you've been on a computer much you are likely aware of how easy it is to chat with others online. Many women have found support after giving birth with other moms online. Men can find solace when their favorite sports team loses by consoling one another on football or soccer forums online. However, there's another kind of communication online that can lead to serious problems. If you are a woman whose husband is chatting online with other women you may begin to wonder where the line is drawn between being friendly and being romantic.

Flirting is something that many people naturally do whether they are single or not. Flirting is often viewed as being harmless and innocent as long as it remains strictly flirting. When you have a husband chatting online you are obviously going to wonder from time-to-time who he is talking to and exactly what they are talking about. There are a few things you can do to gain more insight into your husband's online escapades.

When someone is chatting online quite often they'll become completely immersed in that conversation. Even though it's only typing it's easy to get lost in what the other person is expressing. If you are in the same room with your husband chatting online ask him who he's talking to. Pay close attention to his answer. If he's forthcoming and shares details about his chat partner as well as the conversation, you can usually put your fears to rest. If he shrugs it off as being nothing or says he's talking to no one that may mean he doesn't feel comfortable sharing those details with you.

The amount of time that he's devoting to chatting can also be telling. If it becomes almost impossible to tear him away from his computer, there's likely a good reason for that. The person he's spending time with is captivating to him. He doesn't want the encounter to end so you may notice him rushing back to his computer at regular intervals or checking his email or instant messages on his PDA. If your notice your husband chatting online obsessively, this isn't a good sign.

Try and persuade him to spend less time at the keyboard and more time with you. If your husband is chatting on the Internet to a bunch of other men about classic cars, he'll drop them in a heartbeat to spend some alone time with his wife. If he comes up with countless excuses for why he needs to be at his computer, chances are that the person he is chatting with is a female and someone he's attracted to.

It can be difficult to understand the appeal of chatting with someone online if you've never done it. Many wives simply don't see why their husbands are doing it. They instead feel hurt and betrayed. Instead try and see your husband's desire to chat online as a sign that something is missing from your relationship with him. Many marriages are actually richer and more stable once both parties realize what they have right in front of them. If you suspect your husband is talking with other women online, consider why that is and what you can do to get the focus back on you.

S. Korea announces plans to promote sports ties with North

South Korea said Thursday it aims to share its slate of World Cup matches in 2002 with North Korea and work toward the creation of a unified team for soccer's premier event along with other measures to promote stronger sports ties between the two countries.

The announcement came in the wake of the signing Wednesday of a joint declaration by South Korean President Kim Dae Jung and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il calling for reconciliation between the two Koreas and cooperation in a number of areas. South Korea said it will push plans to have the delegations from North Korea and South Korea march together in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Sydney this September, the government said in an item posted on its Internet page Thursday as well as in a paper released in Seoul.

It will also seek to form a single Korean team for next year's table tennis world championships in Osaka, will urge North Korea to take part in the 2002 Asian Games in Pusan, South Korea and seek a revival of the traditional Seoul-Pyongyang soccer match.

Similar proposals had been made by South Korea before the inter-Korean summit, but have been largely ignored by the North.

On Wednesday, the South Korean news agency Yonhap News reported that South Korean sports officials said North Korean officials were receptive to the sports proposal, thus enhancing the chances of reaching an agreement.

South Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) Chairman Kim Un Yong, also a member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), reportedly proposed having the two Korean delegations march together in Sydney and a single table tennis team for Osaka.

South Korean soccer chief Chung Mong Joon, who is also a vice president in soccer's world governing body FIFA, suggested that South Korea could share its portion of the 2002 World Cup to be co-hosted with Japan.

In Tokyo, Yasuhiko Endo, general secretary of the committee organizing Japan's portion of the World Cup, was noncommittal about the news.

"While the World Cup is being co-hosted by Japan and South Korea, the talk between North and South is an inter-Korean matter," Endo said. "If the matter is resolved as an inter-Korean issue, sharing of the matches or a unified team should not be an obstacle to the hosting of the World Cup."

Chung also suggested the two Koreas try for a unified team for the Asian Cup in Lebanon in October.

Meanwhile, in Osaka, the president of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Adham Sharara, welcomed the idea of a joint Korean team for the world championships a "one step" toward its realization.

"It seems that nothing has been decided yet on a joint team, but we want to do all we can toward realizing a unified team," said Sharara, who has been updated by members of the South Korean delegation in Osaka for the Ogimura Japan Open competition.

North and South Korea formed a joint team for the first time for the world table tennis championships held in Japan's Chiba Prefecture in 1991.
